;D ;D You are joking, aren't you Jean? No I'm not. Just wait and see. Can you quote one "guest"'s contributions that have by anyone's sensibility remotely made any cotribution to any discussion? Apart from mine, of course - which, naturally, were uniformly replendent with good faith.

...(give or take a few hundred years of argument about consubstantialis)... It is funny how religious people can argue amongst themselves (for hundreds of years) on the subject of their religion and what it means or doesn't mean. Leaving the rest of us to concentrate on more important things like Angels and Pins. I doubt you'd find it all that funny if you were a Muslim woman, living in northern Pakistan, or Iran, or Saudi Arabia, or Nigeria. Or Bradford.

Why don't you rejoin that board, Jean? You offence whatever it was can't have been that bad, can it; you must have served your sentence by now. Then we can congratulate each other at our leisure. I didn't think my offence was so very bad, either. If I offended in some other way besides pointing out how hilarious it was that words like 'troll', 'denier' and 'lies' were being filtered to appear as something else, I'm sure Susan, in the persona of Joanne or Deborah, can elucidate. But I wasn't given an explanation, or a warning, so do you really think Jean is getting off that easily? If you did think that, you'd have to be very naive. But perhaps you're right, and Jean will be re-admitted... You're a differnt case, Joe. I've yet to see you say anything sensible, or addressing any issue. All the posts I've seen you make are merely issuing insults. People like that aren't valuable contributors on any board. Maybe I'm doing you an injustice, and sometimes you can say something to the point, without your usual bile. Why don't you demonstrate this ability here?

I imagine those poor souls don't get the opportunity to laugh at anything much. I am not really sure why you mentioned this, is it connected in some way to what I said?

It wasn't them, it was Nick: Why don't you rejoin that board, Jean? You offence whatever it was can't have been that bad, can it; you must have served your sentence by now... Nobody had told me before that you were bald. I hate baldies.

Pippop asked a good question a while back. Bugger! I misread that, and thought it was Pippa. I'd've ignored it otherwise.

Whilst I am sure that it would be interesting to hear what Jean thinks about the subject I do hope she won't feel hurt when I say that it is Nick's view that I'm really interested in. Look...I'm not gay, alright? You think I'm a man? That could be your biggest mistake, right there.

Jesus...said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone", Jesus has asked me to tell you that if he had been speaking English (which he wasn't, of course) he would have said "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone."His grammar was always impeccable. ;D Sometimes you make me want to...sometimes...aghhh, it's a love-hate relationship, to be sure.

Jean, it is remarks like this, which some would call needling, that ensured your ejection from boards where people discuss stuff "in good faith". She's a wanderin' Jew. It's just his lisp. The Christian community is the most valuable contribution of the whole religion, as far as I'm concerned. I'd not encountered its enormous power and value until fairly recently, when I moved to a small village which had had the immeasurable benefit of such an influence.

I queried Nick's assertion here: You don't have to believe Jesus was God or the literal Son of God to be a Christian. Jean also thought it was a strange thing for him to say. Presumably Nick and you think it's not strange.[/quote] It's not strange at all. Many Christian sects have and would demur from both assertions. Much of the schismatic history of the orthodox Christian churches are a doctrinal battle about this intellectually barren issue. To suppose Jesus was a God, or literally a relative of God, is so stupendously stupid and offensively unenlightened, that it's of course unsurprising there have been such conflicts. But that anyone, least of all someone as supposedly educated, and in any position to educate, as Jean would assume that it was a necessary determinant of Christianity that one should believe such clunky doctrines, is very worrying indeed. Oh - you diagree then? I thought you were merely admitting your complete ignorance? What's your disagreement? Unlike in Islam. That was my point. You can't disagree in Islam. Yet. That was my point. They need a Reformation movement first. They need courage, and support.

1 Believe that there is a God who made the universe and everything in it. 2 Believe that Jesus was the son of God and came to be here as a result of... You've dropped the capitalisation of Son there. Why? Nonsense. There were Christians long before this obviously fabricated myth was ever propagated. There are bishops and even Archbishops now who assert such a myth should not be taken literally. Ahhhh...you're actually an emanation from the 17th Century, is that it? That's why you're so secretive? ;D Lift up the stone, I am there. Cleave the rock, I am there. You know nothing of the sort. "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you." No.

You don't have to believe any specific doctrine. That's the beauty of it. You merely have to be in broad agreement with what Christ is held to have said. That's why you'll find very few Buddhists who wouldn't be very happy to call themselves Christians. Thank you, Nick. You're welcome, my son. Now go in peace, and sin no more.

Can you quote one "guest"'s contributions that have by anyone's sensibility remotely made any contribution to any discussion? I said nothing whatsoever about the quality or the relevance of any guest's contribution, Nick. I just pointed out that without them padding out the threads, it would be evident how few good faith posters ever posted - and I further predicted that when they were removed, there would be no sudden influx of good faith posters to take their place. And so it has proved.

That is because jean, like you, is keen to portray Christians as somehow irrational in maintaining a belief in the super-natural. This is so extraordinarily far removed from anything I believe or ever have believed that I do not know where to start. And Inspector Montalbano is about to start, so I cannot deal with it now.

So you think that Susan can offer the explanation for my banning that was never proffered? I'm not even going to try to respond to your blinkered view of my posting history, because if she can't offer proof of my misbehaviour, that ought to satisfy you, surely? You can't be so blinkered, though, as to be unable to see that this site is dead on its feet, as Susan continues to flog it (sorry, carry it) with obsessive threads about Islam, and if you think that the rational response is to feed the troll with more futile attempts at reasonable debate, you've rather missed the point of what she thinks she is being very clever in engineering. Believe that, or don't believe it. I think I can manage to soldier on without your good opinion of me, on any board.
