You mean like the Pilchards just upped and left the West country shores way back when? Is there a theory about that, please, Mr Smith?

Yep, pretty much like that. I don't know where the West Country Pilchards went, but I know there's been a massive influx of Sardines (same thing) in Orkney. A friend of a friend trawled for them a few years back in Scapa Flow. He filled his boat with massive hauls of the things...20 tonnes a haul. The fat content was wrong so they weren't commercially viable. They're still there. I see marks on the sonar the volume of super tankers or more. Fish quota restrictions prevent anyone from trying again (the fat content varies with the time of year). Plus they are making too much money fishing for other "endangered" species. That's me banned from another forum. I wasn't even too rude this time. So that's me banned from The Guardian, The BBC and the Orkney Forum. Socialists do love their censorship. Oh well.

Sorry to hear about more bannings Mr smith. How intolerant people are! You are not valued as a resource, sadly. Why do people always need to agree with their interlocutors? I never look a gift-horse in the mouth. Informed comment is a rare and valuable thing whatever the value system behind it. In the first post on the Arctic Warms thread thesequal.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=climate&action=display&thread=31Capt Ingebrigtsen comments on white fish and seal disappearing from the Arctic and being replaced with herring at all stages of development. I guess that's the same phenomenon - Moving on when conditions change for some exogenous reason that we don't understand but the fish do!

The Australian Election result is interesting. Almost a replay of of ours. Wonder who will recruit the "independents"?|
Could be the beginning of a change in Australian politics where greens have dictated the climate agenda for too long.
