So many of her songs are about time running away, or out. It's as if she knew.

the wind is in from africa last night i couldn't sleep....
oh you're a mean old daddy but i like you.
every so often carey creeps into my head. a wistful reminder of the hedonism at the time, aromas of wild herbs (salvia, sage, oregano etc) carried on the wind and sleeping in the caves beneath the matala moon.

GooGle dictates:
we celebrate the birthday of Robert Moog of synthesiser fame.
was hoping to find wendy carlos definitive work of art but utube throws up everyone but. instead, ode to joy from the the city of prague philharmonic orchestra.

"god save the queen, a fascist regime" . the lyrics struck a chord when there were no jobs and the future looked bleak. no change on that front but the image of the monarchy has changed a lot since the last jubilee. it has worked hard at becoming a lot more progressive in its attempts to ditch the class divide.

as good a time as a any to put this on here. been meaning to post it since forever anyway. i know - sentimental but there you go, i love it. hauntingly sad. caetano veloso - 'cucurrucucu (cucurrucucu being sound a dove makes, naturally) paloma'
radio 3 is always a good listen between 11:30 and 1am on a friday night. the programme, 'world on three'. this evening was a meeting of minds, caetano veloso and david byrne, 'god's child'.

I think she has people going through the internet looking for anything like that: so nothing at all on Youtube. She's like Jerry Sadowitz in that respect (and no other).

and there was a spate of removing everything by bob dylan saying is breached some copyright or another.
i got a ticking off for posting a dusty song elsewhere. i think it might also be a page or two back here. 'wasn't born to follow' it was called. her copyright watch dog's on the prowl.
