Ah, name removed. I remember her getting very upset about how nasty people can be on these boards, and calling someone an arshehole and a cesspit. quite without irony. But how do you know? And, if they weren’t, how do you know they weren’t? (I recommend a little glass of iced water, a little lie-down, and a little bowl-job.) How do I know? The bloody remarks were addresed to me , that's how I know! Stuff your little glass of Aqua up yours Aqua Anyway what the hell are you doing posting at 1149 at night? Nothing better to do? By that time I have read my book, devised the plot for my new novel (can there be an old novel?) and am fast asleep with slices of cucumber over my eyes.

An interlude while my mouse sander cools down...
Nay, you said: I remember her getting very upset about how nasty people can be on these boards, and calling someone an arshehole and a cesspit. quite without irony.
I said: But how do you know? And, if they weren’t, how do you know they weren’t?
Then you said: How do I know? The bloody remarks were addresed to me , that's how I know!
Just to clarify, I wanted to know how you knew they were expressing themselves ‘quite without irony’.
Irony: you know - the thing that often gets you and me into trouble, and other people het up.
I ponder the thought that you (one) can be ironic without meaning to be as well as the usual meaning to be but not being understood to be being.
Back to the mouse sander!

I ponder the thought that you (one) can be ironic without meaning to be as well as the usual meaning to be but not being understood to be being. Quite aqua. Couldn't have put it with more clarity meself However if the young lady was speaking ironically and really meant that I was a person of irresistably languid beauty that basked in an attractive ambience of honeyed fragrance, then I must apologise. But Xantthipe once onfused me by talking of 'contextually nuanced significance', and, although I do not know what she meant, perhaps that had something to do with it?

Was Xantthipe another egregious mangler of the English language, nay? Some phrases remain with one.

Kingswear opposite Dartmouth
The trick is to travel backwards and forwards on the ferry to be in the sun or shade as you fancy. Dartmouth is nice, but it's annoying that it gets no sun for much of the afternoon and the early evening.
