Some excerpts from the Cornwall Alliance "An Evangelical Declaration on Global Warming" www.cornwallalliance.org/articles/read/an-evangelical-declaration-on-global-warming/ We believe Earth and its ecosystems—created by God’s intelligent design and infinite power and sustained by His faithful providence —are robust, resilient, self-regulating, and self-correcting, admirably suited for human flourishing, and displaying His glory.
We deny that Earth and its ecosystems are the fragile and unstable products of chance, and particularly that Earth’s climate system is vulnerable to dangerous alteration because of minuscule changes in atmospheric chemistry.
We deny that carbon dioxide—essential to all plant growth—is a pollutant. What do posters think of 'scientists' who sign up for this?

More fool you for a narrow-minded prat. There was a time, NOT all that long ago, when everyone in the West believed God created the Earth. (Some still do - note my conversation with the muslim taxi driver this afternoon!) This did not quell anyone's scientific curiosity.
Does this mean you will be demanding to know the faith of your doctors in future before you permit them to save your life (or prescribe an antibiotic)?
Silly gel.

This from the poster who says she doesn't engage in name-calling, I don't know why you keep trying to convince us of this, your every post demonstrates the opposite.
But to your point, it wasn't many years ago that the medical profession prescribed mercury as a cure for syphilis. Any doctor recommending that now would be struck off. But perhaps you think they should be allowed their little quirks, including believing that the earth was created 6,000 years ago and that evolution is a hoax?
Science progresses by definition. Any medical doctor not accepting that progress should not be allowed to practice.

Well, climate "science" must be the exception that tests that rule to destruction .

The End is Nigh! How about this bit of Environmental Doom and Gloom from alarmist scientists. The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) Reported as 'Just 100 cod left in North Sea'Chris Darby, head of the Cefas team, said: “Our latest assessments suggest in 2011 there were 600 cod aged 12 to 13 in the North Sea, of which about 200 were caught. “None of the catches recorded at North Sea ports around Europe showed any fish aged 13 or over. Analysis of that data suggests there are fewer than 100 such fish in the whole North Sea.” www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/9546004/Just-100-cod-left-in-North-Sea.html

And just how does that relate to the discussion regarding the conflict between religion and science?
Your comprehension seems to be adrift - are you sure English is your native language?

I really hate to get into this nit picking, visitor, but if you don't know the difference in English between practice (noun) and practise (verb) you have no reason to call me out for the odd typo.

You really are short on knowledge of English idioms, aren't you, dear? "The End is Nigh" "Sandwich Boards" Don't they mean anything to you? Not heard of the "wayside pulpit" either? The Climate Apocalypse message has certainly been adopted by the Unitarians, it seems! Heard of them, visitor? No problem for THEM to adopt "climate science" at any rate! I don't suppose they mind their doctors having science rather than divinity degrees, either. Are you completely unaware of the depths of your own shallowness, visitor? Are you totally immune to irrational beliefs yourself?

There is no conflict between religion and science unless you are a simple-minded militant atheist or an over-confident bigot.
And don't compare yourself to Richard Dawkins, visitor! You are no Dawkins! He certainly does not make the silly assumption that you do about a supposed conflict between religion and science. Dawkins denies the existence of God, he does not make adolescent generalisations on message boards about scientists and religious belief. Do you believe in God the Creator, visitor?

You really are short on knowledge of English idioms, aren't you, dear? Why do you keep harping on about this? Suppose for a moment that some posters do not speak English as a first language... So what?

There is no conflict between religion and science.. So a "Christian" palaeontologist will think that dinosaurs were placed in the ground by God sometime during the last five or six thousand years? Yeah, right.

I don't care a toss whether people are English or not. The point is some of you are desperately keen (verging on paranoid) not to reveal the slightest bit of information about yourselves, even down to your sex.
So that's why I tease you about it. And also because I flatter myself, maybe wrongly, that I can detect an "infelicity" in the use and understanding of English that leads me to believe I am speaking either to a foreigner or someone who was not brought up in an English speaking home from birth.
No criticism at all implied. Some of my best friends are furrin. We can't all be English, I understand that......
