The Canadians are right to be proud of the work of Steve McIntyre and Ross McKitrick.
I think it is fair to say that between them they have totally undermined the IPCC process and the claimed consensus.
It's not that there aren't other contrarian scientists beavering away, there are. But these two have been the ones who have really got the fiddling of the base data out to the masses via the internet. They deserve medals.

The Weekly Standard
Scientists Behaving Badly
5 Dec 2009
“Perhaps the most damning email from the CRU circle is this July 2005 message from Phil Jones to climatologist John Christy of the University of Alabama: “As you know, I’m not political. If anything, I would like to see the climate change happen, so the science could be proved right, regardless of the consequences. This isn’t being political, it is being selfish.”
Jones’s attitude may not be exactly political, but it is certainly unscientific. The denial of political bent is also hard to square with the emails revealing that several of these scientists worked closely behind the scenes with alarmist advocacy groups such as Greenpeace, which really deserves to be shunned by serious scientists.”

Not too keen on the messnger but the message is dead right! The lady done good!
"Policy decisions require real science and real solutions, not junk science and doomsday scare tactics pushed by an environmental priesthood that capitalizes on the public’s worry and makes them feel that owning an SUV is a “sin” against the planet."
