First AHL...and I shall put this in bold as you seem to be having difficulty understanding it. .Even the members who had no previous knowledge of him voted to ban him. how odd... it surprises me to hear that anyone would, without knowledge of a person, make such a judgment. perhaps a desire to swim with the tide? not wanting to give an individual the benefit of the doubt? wanting to fit in? i find it rather sad to hear about people unable or not willing to make up their own minds based on their own findings. see how easy it is to either get sucked in or just jump on the bandwagon. Does it surprise you dear?......after all YOU are making judgements about people YOU don't know all the time. Perhaps some people just don't like the tone of his posting. Still.....there's no point saying more on the subject. You have it fixed in your head that there is a conspiracy and nothing will shift it.

especially if one is required to publicly acknowledge their error, if there was one. Once again you invent a scenario to suit your argument. What public acknowledgment? I asked for no such thing. A quiet word by PM would have settled the matter.

i wouldn't vote to ban someone from a board without having previous knowledge of them though. that is what is disappointing, that people would do that

I have no problem getting a taste of my own medicine...... What I don't care for is having it dispensed by someone that I welcomed onto my board, even to the extent of going along with their wish to remain unrecognised. Not awfully keen on said member scrabbling through the board history to try and dish the dirt, either. despite marchesa's voicing otherwise i seem to remember earlier in this thread your saying you never break confidences - ho hum. and, surely one hardly needs to be a member of any public board to notice the social dynamics, and politics that unfold. I gave no word.....merely went along with your request to join my board under a different name. I took your reasons in good faith. I now realise that there was no good faith on your part.

How could he "come back" if he was never banned? And he was NEVER banned. If you choose to believe otherwise that's up to you.

Oh..and by the way.
If you think that by continually sniping away you're going to force me off this board you're wrong. I'm just beginning to enjoy myself.
I wonder who'll play "Pippa" to my "Johnny's Moth"?

I don't really see the point of these exchanges. Is it some sort of negotiation to arrive at a choice of moderator? Seems very complicated if that is the purpose.

actually i did come in good faith to ask you something in private. None of which I have revealed, have I? Nor would I. However you have chosen to post up selected extracts from my board.... Firstly to continue a feud to which I had no part, save having both sides as members. Secondly to stage a personal attack on me. Both of which are fine....whatever floats your boat...as they say. But you could have done both those things as a guest. Instead you continued to hide in the shadows which,as far as I am concerned, was somewhat dishonest. Marchesa has "issues" with some on my board but she is open enough to appear under her widely known name.

yes i have to agree with you, nay. looking back on it this morning i see how utterly pointless it was. that's what happens when people get bogged down in minutiae. i'm sorry for my part in it.
i still think Marchesa would be the best choice. after all it is her who has been the stalwart of this board these past months when no one else was bothered with the place.

Reading this thread is a bit like being transported back in time to 2007. Another proboard, another lengthy round of he said/she said argy bargery. Sorry, as you were.

hmm... i dare say, Octopus. they were around back then were they?
although a member of cakeboard yourself (that is/was correct, no?), i thought you did a rather good job as moderator on the precursor to this board. i also remember a blistering attack on JSG on R4boards where you gave a reasoned, rational, dispassionate argument against those mobbing him. would you be interested in modding here, in the event we manage to sort out what is good for this board, of course?
