In the continental USA, there were 137 high temperature type records versus 857 low temperature type records this past week This is what should have been predicted - and has been, by Corbyn among others - if the true driver of global (and local variable) temperatures - the output of the Sun - is taken as primary. Against a clear and definite and actually very alarming decline in solar activity since about the end of the 90s, leading to a historical record based prediction that the world is going to get considerably year-on-year colder over the next 70 or so years, we have had in the past week or two a massive solar storm, injecting by magnetic Birkeland strings vast - localised - influses of ionically charged particles, which should produce, as is now well known, higher than usual storm activity, increased precipitation, and temperature increases. But all this is objective science, that doesn't fit in with the political propaganda of the AGW cash-cow hobbyhorse, so you won't hear about it in the press, scientific or otherwise.
