Never has an undercover video sting delighted its victims more. Thet don't sound terribly delighted here. Embarrassed at best, I'd have thought. But what do you think, marchesa?

I think it's about time political parties represented the REAL facts about the renewable fuels farce, jean.
The days when all but three MPs voted through the Climate Change Act on the nod are long gone. Time the public were exposed to some real facts and debate about the ridiculous "stop climate change" policies, because the matter is not by any means "settled".

I think it's about time political parties represented the REAL facts about the renewable fuels farce, jean. That's not a comment on the antics described in the OP, marchesa. Please keep to the point.

"Antics" may beguile you jean, but they do not beguile me so I will not be joining you there.
How about you, as resident green expert, unpack your crazy "dirty gas" statement?
Extraordinary, isn't it, that hysterical greens are calling gas powered electricity generation "dirty" when is emits only about one third of the CO2 per megawatt as coal does? By changing to gas generation, which is relatively easy and economical to do, the country could halve its electricity generation emissions of CO2! If only "renewables" could make such a dent so cheaply!
C'mon, jean, discuss the real issues not tabloid tittle tattle.

"Antics" may beguile you jean, but they do not beguile me... Except when they've been perpetrated by your opponents. Then, you're absolutely fascinated.

Get out your calculator, jean, and tell us what percentage of our electricity is now being generated from wind turbines. That's the scam you should be unpacking instead of obscuring with your silly tabloid politicking. www.ukenergywatch.org/Electricity/RealtimeI'll tell you, since arithmetic does not seem to be your forte. At 11am Monday 19 Nov 2012 morning wind powered electricity generation amounted to 9% of the total compared to 2.7% at the same time yesterday morning while coal and gas are still contributing the same, steady reliable 44% and 28% of output respectively as yesterday. Wind is an irrelevant, expensive fad, a money spinner for the few and a huge drain on resources for everyone else. Accommodating to its huge variability (2.7% yesterday, 9% today) will disrupt the grid in ways that Germany is already experiencing whilst making NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL to CO2 emissions or to climate. Wake up! www.spiegel.de/international/germany/instability-in-power-grid-comes-at-high-cost-for-german-industry-a-850419.html

And I understand your inability to debate facts about wind power. As a Green Party prospective representative you should be better informed.

Just to let you know how the Electricity generation is progressing this morning, 9.45 am Tues 20 Nov 2012 It is still rather windy and the turbines are producing 8.6%. Coal is churning out 45% and Gas 25% www.ukenergywatch.org/Electricity/Realtime

Wind has dropped again. The UK, at 9.50 am Wed 21st Dec 2012 is getting 3.5% of its electricity from wind. Coal producing the lions share, as usual, at 48% Gas producing 25%. www.ukenergywatch.org/Electricity/Realtime

I've never noticed this before, MR.
But a little bit of your exposed brain has drifted off towards the right.
Does that mean it'll eventually drift to the left?

Obviously aqua is now displaying the essential intellectual credentials for Green Party membership!
Never mind the quality feel the thickness!
Don't you have anything interesting or informative to say about wind generated electricity, aqua? It is, after all the subject of the thread.

Hands up Green Party members to volunteer to pay for this scam! Under the government’s Feed-In Tariff (FIT) scheme, which aims to make renewable energies competitive with fossil fuels, the size of a turbine is measured not by height but by power output. If a turbine pumps out more than 500kW, its owners receive 9.5p per kilowatt hour. But a ‘smaller’ sub-500kW one receives a subsidy of 17.5p per kilowatt hour, supposedly to compensate for its lower efficiency. The idea is to lure smaller wind-power producers into the market.
Problem is, while smaller turbines are more popular with the public, those designs don’t produce anything like the 500kW needed to take full advantage of the subsidy. So instead, investors are buying big, powerful turbines and downgrading them, tweaking their components to churn out no more than the magic 500kW. It’s simply far more lucrative to hobble bigger turbines — machines that ought to be capable of producing almost twice as much electricity. www.spectator.co.uk/features/8766481/the-great-british-wind-scam/

Its following the law. The Law of Unintended Consequences.
It similar to farming rats in Viet Nam, to get the bounty. Or farming cobras in New Delhi, to get a bounty.
The latter actually increased the cobra population in the city, as when the British governors discovered the scam, they abrubtly stopped the bounty. The "farmers" released the snakes they had farmed. By one account, the number of cobras in the city, increased by several orders of magnitude.
Subsidies will always be gamed. Always. Les Johnson
