Yes but lets put that in context. If I converted from Atheism to Islam I reckon I would suffer horribly as well. For starters I would get some very funny looks from the family and the suffering would be really extreme as I would no longer be able to enjoy a pint in The Harots Arms.

People on this board and on the predecessor board of the BBC have been told umpteen times by me that apostacy from Islam is punishable by death and that a muslim woman may not marry out.
Muslims are terrified of Sharia law and afraid to reveal any opposition to it because that makes them apostates, too, and also liable to the death penalty for treason. For this reason there is no such thing as a "moderate" muslim. When push comes to shove they will fall in line and keep stumm. There are however, brave people who will stand up to to this totalitarian creed. They are Ex-muslims, of course. In the West they can mount their campaigns. In the Islamic world, their fate could be very different than it is here, in the tolerant West.

Aaww diddums! Did I hurt his sensitive little soul with the unvarnished truth? Ask your daughter inlaw about racism and slavery in Somalia and Sudan and Islamic repression of free speech. Remember Darfur. Remember how Ayan Hirsi Ali upset the multicultural applecart on the bbc boards with her outright condemnations of a repressive culture?

Listening to this story on the radio, it is my understanding that the woman involved never considered herself muslin, she believed that she was christian having been brought up by her christian mother after her Muslim father left when she was a young child.
So, is someone Muslin via their parents? And in the case of mixed parentage which religion takes president?

EVERYONE is born a muslim, SJJ. Even us. So long as we recognise Islam as the only true religion we will be forgiven, however. Everyone else - DAMNED to eternal fire.
That's why the spread of this pernicious ideology into tolerant societies is very dangerous. The attempt to get ever more of Sharia Law accepted by the UK legal system is insidious. Fail to recognise this at your peril!

Fogetting, or at least ignoring personal insults being bandied around (which is why this board almost died IMHO) did anyone see Panorama a week or so back?
I think the people on there could only have said what they said becasue we live in a free country, and they took full advantage of that.
Yes I know the BBC want to make a programme that sticks in the memory and maybe peaceful people going to a mosque and praying makes dull TV, but I somehow doubt they had very far to look for the type of people they portrayed.

Fogetting, or at least ignoring personal insults being bandied around (which is why this board almost died IMHO)... If that's the case, I wonder what special brand of niceness it is that keeps MCL afloat? Still, don't worry. Bang on cue cleefy's back, and all will be sweetness and light.

Give MCL a few months Jean. One person is doing an excellent job of alienating everyone else.
