LINKAre we being visited? Or is it a miracle? An angel do you think? A result of global warming (that for marchesa) Some natural occurance that can be reproduced in the right conditions?

Are we alone?
Yes, for all practical purposes.

I have heard it said that it was a huge advert for MicroSoft, as it precisely reproduces the twirly thing you get when a video is loading
which would be fabulours, wouldn't it?

Oh God, they're taking over! (But at least it's not Apple.)

Until you can get an apple whirling in the sky above Norway you can just suck it up.

Jade, please freeze that waving image. It is distracting.

I have read that the effect was caused by the loss of a fuel from a failed rocket spiralling down to earth. Sounds reasonable to me.
Yes, what have you got against Apple, Aub?
Luckyfredsdad is eagerly awaiting their version of e-book - the e-book to end all e-books we fondly expect.

I've got nothing against Apple, except the idea that they are a kind of altruistic organisation, only set up so that Steve Jobs can do his big rock star bit whenever he wants to announce a new product.
Microsoft is a big evil company, but they don't pretend not to be.
Oh, and they don't have a right clicker.

I am not interested in the personality of the founder, only the product. I have used both and find Apple far superior. Macs do have a right clicker and a scroll ball with vertical and horizontal scrolling.

I didn't know they had a right clicker now.
It's really the smug evangelism of some apple users (not you - those who write to newspapers, ususally) that puts me off. I know they're better for some things. A lot of it is what you're (I'm) used to, really.
But I really do dislike those presentations that Jobs gives.
