Why don't you have a stab at identifying the cause? C'mon give us a laugh. (My own answer, in case you forgot is The Qur'an. We at least agree that we don't think it is the government. Unlike you I am not absolutely certain about some things and would have to say "I don't know" in answer to your question. So you think it's the Qur'an. I wonder why everyone who reads that is not then radicalised? Mind you if everyone who read the bible sold all their worldly goods to give to the poor we'd be in a right pickle eh? Eh? Back to the (unanswerable) question. I wonder why the original poster thinks that our government has "radicalised" moslem youth. He doesn't seem to know! Jonjel has hinted that he knows, but he's not saying

Plant the seed of jihad in their minds when they are kids and then wait for it germinate given the correct environment Ah! I see you added a bit more on at the end there....but still not implicated the British Government! I liked the theory best that he just spews out these words not really thinking about them and certainly not expecting anyone to read let alone comment and then when asked a simple question hasn't even got the guts (could you make up the rest please as I have to go and watch the football).

I did not hint that I knew, what I said was:
And I have been unable to post until now
I think that if we are t discuss this seriously then first we make at least some attempt not to insult one another and second we post under our real board names. That way we might get some sense of continuity.
I think part of the reason that Muslims have increasingly become radicalised is that successive governments have been hell bent on our society being so pc as to be laughable. Most of the general population don't think that way.
This country is by and large very tolerant and we have welcomed waves of displaced or dispossessed people here in the past without any problems. The difference is that most were just damned glad to be here and integrated pretty well. They did not bring seventh century values with them. Yes they brought their faiths food and in some cases their cultures, but by and large that enriched us. Fish and chips is Jewish/Belgian for starters.
If you go to the US you will find dozens of languages being spoken among groups of people. However almost without exception those people also speak English. They are all damned proud to be American. Ask them where they are from and they will tell you a city in the states, not a foreign country. Ask the same question here and you will get a very different answer.

Well said Jonjel- I agree with all you say. Successive governments must take some of the responsibility for the alienation of immigrant-stock youth and that has a direct link to radicalisation

This is typical:
and this:
and this:
The minute you ask a simple question (why do you think our govt. has radicalised moslem youth?) the big guns have to come out don't they? Instead of politely answering that simple question you get all this "deary" bollocks and called an idiot. It's all "porn" this and "inadequate" that and "ooh! you called me names a thousand fucking years ago on the BBC boards so grudgy me is still in a big old sulk...
...and before you start crying about the swearing - you say "f*cking" and I say "fucking" - nobody is fooled by your asterisks, we know what the word is!
It makes you wonder though - why not just answer the question?

I myself am not a huge fan of so-called "aid" and think there could be better ways of organising things. Having said that I don't think we should decide whether to help a country on the strength of what one family have done. Are we to believe that any and all self-proclaimed atheists are treated this way in Nigeria? surely not. (I do like talking to you Jonjel, you are happy to have a dialogue. I am sorry if you don't like my 'guest' status but I will always try to be civil as I know you always try to be.)

Well if I knew who you were I might enjoy talking to you. Why be so shy? I'm "guest" you're "jonjel" - I don't know anything at all about you. You know nothing about me. If i "join" then nothing really changes. One of the reasons that message boards work (when they do!) is because people get to talk to people they'd perhaps not normally get to meet. I am more interested in your views, jonjel, than any personal info. So where you live or what you look like doesn't really master. Your dog looks nice - I do know that about you!

He/she is quite successful at this, having had at least 4 boards closed down Best ignored
